Alexis Falk

After graduating from high school in Manitoba, where she is originally from, Ms. Falk travelled extensively through Europe and, upon return, started and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree with a certificate in Teaching English as a Second language. She ran a photography business in Winnipeg from 1995-2008 while attending University in both Manitoba, and then subsequently in British Columbia at UBC Okanagan.

After completing her education at UBC, Ms. Falk went to Belfast, Northern Ireland, and completed a Masters of Law. While completing that degree she co-authored a paper with other masters and PHD students which quantified the progress and methods local restorative justice practitioners used locally to encourage community support and healing.

Upon her return to Canada after completing law school, Ms Falk then accredited her law degree, completed her articles with Darrel Schultz and Peter McDermick (now, His Honour Judge McDermick) and was called to the Bar in August of 2013. She continued to work with both until Ms Falk and Mr McDermick entered into partnership in January of 2018. She is now a sole practitioner.

Her practice is focused purely in Criminal Defense Law, having experience in both Federal and Provincial matters. She has experience in defense work with offences such as drugs, fisheries, offences, assaults, robbery, theft, fraud, and breaches, to name only a few.

An active member of the legal community, in 2018 Ms. Falk was appointed the Fraser Valley Regional Director for the Association of Legal Aid Lawyers (A.L.L.), President of the Fraser Valley Criminal Bar Association, and Regional Director for the Criminal Defense Advocacy Society (C-DAS).

When she is not in a courtroom, Ms Falk can be found looking after her two Irish Wolfhounds, Aravis and Diana, and her cat, Gracie.
